I found this incredible marine gastropod (snail) fossil while hiking through thr Sespe Wilderness of Southern California, brought it home, cut it, and hand polished it. I found it perfect to adorn the door of this hidden treasure box necklace. Inside holds a hidden world.... Open the door and you will find a sterling silver giant kelp forest scene with a gorgeous Bat Ray gliding through its serene landscape. Kelp forests are a vital part of the coastal marine ecosystems and shorelines of California and the entire west coast. Every single part of this piece is completely handmade by myself; nothing is cast and everything is 100% one of a kind.
This pendant measures 23mm x 17mm x 12mm and includes your choice of a 16", 18", or 20" sterling silver rolo chain

CA Marine Fossil Sterling Silver Bat Ray Kelp Forest Treasure Box Necklace
Sterling silver is fine to wear in water, HOWEVER, it will rapidly tarnish if worn in saltwater or a swimming pool
To regularly clean stone and silver, gently scrub with a soft toothbrush, warm water, and dish soap
To remove natural tarnish, if you please, purchase a Sunshine Cloth or Propolish pads to gently rub away excess tarnish. These can be purchased from various online retailers such as Amazon or Rio Grande.
